The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
The incumbent will join the Biostatistical Consulting Unit (BCU), part of the Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE). Under the supervision of the Associate Director of the BCU and a principal investigator, they will provide statistical support for projects involving RI-MUHC and McGill collaborators. The role includes supporting clinical research projects led by principal investigators, especially those using large-scale administrative or population-based databases. The incumbent will contribute to the scientific and methodological development of the Unit and handle the statistical aspects of research projects, ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
General Duties
• Lead the statistical design, grant preparations, analysis, and dissemination of projects related to a research group.
• Work with large-scale administrative databases, particularly at the Institut de la Statistique du Québec (ISQ) data centers.
• Collaborate with PIs and BCU staff to ensure quality control and adherence to timelines.
• Develop and write Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP) for grants, protocols, and publications.
• Write results sections based on statistical analyses for publications and presentations.
• Conduct statistical analyses using appropriate software and methods.
• Collaborate with project managers, research coordinators, and data managers.
• Assist MUHC-RI residents and trainees with knowledge transfer activities.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the BCU Associate Director or PI.
