Salary Range: $3,650 - $4,525 CAD per month

We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation – which can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications .

Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

As a member of the Systems Analytics and Clinical Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work across the software, biomedical research, and electrical domains.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

You will engage in activities that develop practical and transferable skills such as:

  • Supporting the Systems Analytics and Clinical Engineering teams in developing and evaluating systems and algorithms for electrophysiological applications
  • Experimental design and execution, with benchtop and computation components
  • Data analysis to characterize and improve system performance
  • S oftware design and development

What you bring to the team

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • Experience with data analysis techniques and statistics (ex: classification, regression, hypothesis testing)
  • Familiar with the principles of experimental design
  • Strong mathematics background including linear algebra, numerical methods, and/or calculus
  • Theoretical or practical electrical systems knowledge
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have good object-oriented and data analysis programming skills, typically with MATLAB, Java, and/or Python
  • Have a keen desire to produce high quality code
  • Have a desire to analyze and test electrical systems
  • Be highly proactive and able to execute tasks with minimal instruction and guidance
  • Be enthusiastic about finding innovative solutions to unforeseen challenges
  • Have a history of success working in self-guided and team settings
  • Have a high degree of drive and motivation
