Job summary

The Department of Biological Sciences at MacEwan University invites applications for an entry-level, full-time tenure-track appointment commencing July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will support the delivery of BIOL 108 and BIOL 208 laboratory components, assist with curriculum development for labs, and coordinate lab instructors in multi-section courses.

Minimum qualifications include an MSc in Biological Sciences with a background in organismal biology or ecology, plus relevant teaching

Qualifications

Must have an MSc in Biological Sciences, with a background in general organismal biology, ecology, or a related discipline.
Relevant teaching and leadership experience in a biology laboratory or field environment.
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills will be essential.
Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and a proven commitment to student-centered, evidence-based lab pedagogy is an asset.

Responsibilities

Deliver laboratory components of core courses BIOL 108 and BIOL 208.
Assist with curriculum development for labs, including lab manuals and lab assessments.
Manage course resources in MacEwan’s Learning Management System.
Coordinate laboratory instructors in multi-section courses.
Contribute to the continued success of the Biological Sciences Major within MacEwan’s Bachelor of Science degree.
