Your future role on our team

The Environment team is seeking a biologist or environmental technician to carry out field assignments to characterize and inventory natural environments as part of a wide range of projects, including energy, mining, infrastructure and linear projects. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate closely with project leaders and managers during fieldwork planning and execution.

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements
  • Technical diploma or university degree in biology, bioecology, environmental studies, natural environments or a related field
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in inventorying or characterizing natural environments
  • Experience in fieldwork, including planning, execution and meeting deadlines
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Availability to perform field campaigns over several consecutive days
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Physical ability to work in natural environments, including extended walking and varying weather conditions
  • Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
  • Intermediate English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and abroad; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
  • Asset: knowledge of GIS tools such as ArcGIS or equivalent
  • Asset: experience in floristics, wetlands, terrestrial wildlife or sensitive habitats
  • Asset: certifications or training in environmental or remote-area safety
  • Asset: experience working on northern or remote-access projects
