Job summary

Pharma Medica Research in Mississauga is seeking a Lab Support Services Assistant to join the Bioanalytical Lab. The role focuses on sample receipt, storage, paperwork, and supporting calibration QC processes under GLP and SOP guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in lab services, experience handling hazardous chemicals and waste, strong English communication, and computer literacy to work with spreadsheets. Ability to work independently and in a team is essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in lab services.
• Working experience handling hazardous chemicals and biological waste.
• Good communication skills including strong English verbal and written skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to use spreadsheets.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample receipt, sorting, storage, and disposal/return of all study samples and complete all associated paperwork.
• Calibrator and QC sample storage and requests for validations as required by laboratory staff.
• Study sample requests as required by laboratory staff.
• Maintain automated temperature monitoring system for freezers, refrigerators and drug vault including informing management of any out-of-specification occurrences.
• Maintain a database of blank biological matrix, Calibrator/QC pool inventory and study sample inventory.
• Ensure Bioanalytical Sample Accession Laboratory is stocked with adequate supplies; inform supervisor of low inventory levels.
• Work in a safe manner, complying with all relevant safety procedures, requirements and SOPs.
