Job summary

Black & McDonald in Saskatoon is seeking a Virtual Design Lead (BIM/VDC) to oversee BIM/VDC activities across active projects, ensuring models are accurate, coordinated, and construction-ready. You will serve as the primary link between VDC teams, project managers, field leadership, and trade partners.

The role requires a college program in Mechanical or CAD CAM Technology with 5–10 years of experience, and proficiency in Revit and Navisworks.

Qualifications

• Completion of college program in Mechanical or CAD CAM Technology and 5–10 years’ experience.
• Preference for engineering education and mechanical engineering technology.
• Proficiency with BIM/VDC in construction or fabrication environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM/VDC coordination across multiple active projects.
• Act as liaison between VDC, Project Managers, field teams and trades.
• Ensure models are accurate, coordinated and construction-ready.
• Manage model quality, constructability, and version control.
• Oversee clash detection and coordinate resolution of issues.
• Coordinate production of shop drawings and installation drawings.
