Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking a BIM/VDC Coordinator to join the Innovation team in Canada. You will support project teams with BIM/VDC tools, develop data-exchange protocols, and collaborate on BIM execution and management plans. Training in Revit, Navisworks, and AEC Cloud is required.

The role includes creating 4D simulations for VR/AR experiences and piloting drones to enhance site logistics and QA using point clouds or mobile tech. Hybrid work options apply.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or civil engineering, or a technical diploma in civil engineering, architecture, or equivalent.
• Over 3 years of BIM experience in construction or architecture.
• Proficiency in CAD tools AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, Rhino + Grasshopper.
• Experience with BIM software and GIS is required or advantageous.
• Parametric modeling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a BIM/VDC Coordinator within Pomerleau's Innovation team, you will play a key role in the future of design and construction. You will be called upon to support project teams and help them successfully use cutting-edge VDC tools and methods. Working on large-scale construction projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will support project growth and execution through BIM (Building Information Modeling) and VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) technologies.

What You Will Do

• Assist and support the project team in the implementation and use of BIM/VDC processes;
• Develop protocols for key elements such as communication, data exchange, and the 3D workspace;
• Collaborate with designers and trades to draft and review BIM management plans and BIM execution plans;
• Participate in creating project-specific terminology for contracts and tenders as part of the BIM bidding process;
• Train your team in the use of Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud;
• Creatively design 4D simulations that allow users to experience their project in virtual and augmented reality;
• By piloting our drones, support site logistics and quality assurance of the work by integrating point clouds from laser scanning or using mobile technology.

This role could be for you if you have :

• A bachelor's degree in construction engineering or civil engineering, or a technical diploma in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience;
• Over 3 years of experience in BIM in the construction or architecture sector;
• Proficiency in one or more computer-aided design tools in the field of civil engineering, including: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, Rhino + Grasshopper;
• Proficiency in parametric modeling (an asset);
• Nav Canada drone pilot certificate for advanced operations (an asset);
• Experience working with BIM software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
