A leading Canadian engineering firm is seeking a BIM/CAD Technology Designer to join their Ottawa Building Technologies team. The role involves creating and modifying technical drawings, collaborating with various project stakeholders, and ensuring quality assurance methodologies. Ideal candidates will have experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and hold a post-secondary education in drafting. The position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects and requires a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
WSP is currently looking for a BIM/CAD Technology Designer to join the Ottawa Building Technologies Team, working on large IT Infrastructure, Security Systems and Technology projects in the region. The successful candidate should be familiar with a variety of institutional, municipal, healthcare, commercial, and light industrial building projects. The successful individual will be responsible for design, tender and construction services on various projects. This position will have scope and freedom to satisfy the most ambitious, career-minded and technically savvy person.

Adapt quickly to frequent project changes in a dynamic environment.
Create or modify drawings using company and government drafting standards.
Perform drawing and technology research to support project delivery.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other team members to incorporate concepts and information into drawing packages.
Coordinate design drawings with other disciplines and contribute to maintaining WSP’s quality assurance methodologies.
Work independently or as part of a team with minimal oversight.
Travel periodically for project assignments and client site visits.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM-related software (MicroStation experience is a plus).
Post-secondary education with drafting and/or construction-related experience, with emphasis on electronic or electrical disciplines.
Knowledge of security, IT, and/or AV systems is an asset.
Ability to obtain a Public Works and Government Services Canada level II Secret security clearance.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Willingness to travel as required.
