KEY OBJECTIVE:

As a key member of the Financial Lines underwriting department in the Toronto branch, you will have the role of managing and growing a Financial Institutions book of business. As such, you will play a critical role in the growth and profitability initiatives for this specialty department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Risk selection, coverage negotiation and pricing adequacy on new and renewal business.
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of brokers and insureds.
• Cross-selling and retaining existing accounts.
• Working collaboratively with field underwriters and brokers across Canada on the retention of renewal business.
• Identifying, analyzing and developing sources of new business opportunities.
• Miscellaneous duties and projects as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous underwriting experience in, or direct knowledge of Financial Institutions business is required.
• Bilingualism in French and English is required to ensure effective communication with all Chubb stakeholders.
• Direct knowledge of Chubb products and systems is considered a strong asset.
• Proven negotiation skills, gained through established broker/client relationships.
• Proven skills in financial analysis.
• Ability to be innovative and creative in order to develop new opportunities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong marketing skills, combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
