The University of Ottawa invites applications for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for the Software Engineering Capstone Project Part 1 (SEG4910) in the Winter 2027 session. The role involves assisting student groups, studying and testing software, and providing guidance during group meetings in English and French.

Work is in person on the Main Campus from January 1 to April 30, 2027, totaling about 130 hours.

Qualifications

• Must have completed third-year, fourth-year or graduate courses in usability and software design.
• Must have at least 8 months of work experience as a software engineer in industry (COOP or Summer jobs).
• Familiar with git, issue tracking, automated testing, agile methods, and web/mobile frameworks.
• Bilingual ability in English and French is required.

Responsabilités

• Assist groups of students on capstone software projects.
• Study and test software developed by groups.
• Attend and advise at student group meetings.
• Evaluate design, usability, and maintainability of group work.
• Assess written and oral communication in English and French.
