Job summary

The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia is hiring a temporary Bilingual Retail and Admission Sales Associate. The role is full-time for 37.5 hours per week on a six-month contract, requiring availability across all days including weekends.

You will greet visitors, answer inquiries, process sales at the Boutique, and help customers with product selections while maintaining a welcoming sales floor. Fluency in English and French is essential.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and French is required.
• Experience in retail sales and customer service is essential.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Assist customers with selecting items for sale.
• Process sales of tickets and retail products (cash, debit, credit).
• Open/close the Boutique; manage end-of-day reconciliation.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, display and restocking of merchandise.
• Support inventory monitoring and shelf replenishment.
• Wrap customer merchandise and price new stock.
• Become knowledgeable about Boutique items available.
