Job summary

FedEx Express Canada in Longueuil is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day sort operations and supervise Cargo Handlers, ensuring safe, efficient handling, routing and recovery of service issues.

The role requires a college degree, 2 years in FedEx sort operations or supervisory experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift heavy packages. Bilingual French/English and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have college degree.
• 2 years FedEx sort operations or senior level hourly role experience OR, 2 years supervisory experience in related industry.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• EXCEL Leadership Development Stream (Preferred).
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
• Ability to complete basic and recurrency training including DG certification.
• Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.
• Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate in a time-sensitive manner.
• Addresses and resolves conflict management.
• Communicates with others clearly and empathetically.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide employees in proper package handling, routing and recovery of potential service failures within the station sort function.
• Oversee all Cargo Handlers (CH) functions and direction of work activities.
• Mentor, coach, and train staff to ensure compliance with FXE policies and government regulations.
• Ensure administrative processes are compliant and operational goals are met.
• Manage day-to-day sort operations and staff within a FedEx Express station.
