Job description

The role of the FWA team is to proactively detect and address risks in a timely manner that effectively manages the financial risk and reputation of Express Scripts Canada (ESC) customers. The Auditor is responsible to conduct various types of audits across Canada to validate that providers are compliant with benefit plan design and professional practice regulations. The Auditor uses their analytical and investigative skills along with their practice and knowledge of provincial benefit coverage to identify trends observed from claim reviews and to ensure that the audit techniques evolve to remain effective in managing risk for ESC customers.

The team responsible for fraud, waste, and abuse audits is tasked with quickly detecting and mitigating risks, thereby managing financial risks and protecting the reputation of ESC clients. The Auditor conducts diverse audits nationwide to verify provider compliance with agreements, regulations, and practices. They leverage their analytical, investigative skills, and healthcare knowledge to identify trends and ensure audit techniques remain effective in risk management for ESC clients.

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform claim verifications, desk and/or on-site audits
  2. Communicate with providers to gather information, educate on claim submission, and respond to audit queries
  3. Assess provider documentation for compliance with ESC’s provider agreement, benefit plan, and legislation
  4. Calculate necessary adjustments to claims
  5. Coordinate and conduct on-site audits, including post-audit activities
  6. Compile detailed, unbiased audit reports
  7. Perform self and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and quality
  8. Track and summarize audit activities and results for reporting
  9. Identify trends and suggest risk management improvements
  10. Recommend process enhancements to increase value and risk prevention
  11. Respond professionally and promptly to stakeholder inquiries
  12. Collaborate with internal and external teams for investigations and inquiries
  13. Provide testimonials for legal proceedings if needed
  14. Seek continuous process improvements and efficiencies
  15. Mentor and develop team members
  16. Perform other duties as assigned

Main Responsibilities (French):

  1. Effectuer vérifications de demandes de règlement, audits à distance ou sur place
  2. Communiquer avec fournisseurs pour collecte d’informations et éducation
  3. Vérifier la conformité des documents avec les ententes et lois
  4. Calculer les rajustements nécessaires
  5. Coordonner et réaliser des audits sur site
  6. Produire des rapports d’audit impartiaux et détaillés
  7. Réviser ses propres rapports et ceux des collègues
  8. Suivre et résumer activités d’audit pour statistiques
  9. Proposer des idées pour améliorer la prévention et la gestion des risques
  10. Répondre rapidement aux questions des clients internes et externes
  11. Collaborer pour répondre aux demandes et enquêtes
  12. Fournir témoignages pour procédures légales
  13. Améliorer les processus et ajouter de la valeur
  14. Mentorer les membres de l’équipe
  15. Autres responsabilités selon besoin

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 ans d’expérience récente en pharmacie de détail avec connaissance des logiciels
  • Permis de conduire valide, capacité à voyager (5-15%)
  • Diplôme en pharmacie, la désignation R Ph.T. préférée
  • Connaissance approfondie des régimes d’assurance médicaments et réglementation
  • Intégrité, curiosité, honnêteté, tact, résilience, motivation
  • Expérience en audit ou enquête est un atout
  • Gestion confidentielle de l’information
  • Compétences organisationnelles et de gestion du temps
  • Capacités analytiques et de résolution de problèmes
  • Autonomie, travail en équipe, communication efficace
  • Flexibilité, adaptabilité, gestion du stress
  • Maîtrise du pack MS Office, bilinguisme français-anglais

Compétences recherchées (French):

  • 2-5 ans d’expérience en pharmacie de détail, connaissance pratique des logiciels
  • Permis de conduire valide, déplacement au Canada (5-15%)
  • Diplôme en pharmacie, technicien en pharmacie un atout
  • Connaissance approfondie des régimes d’assurance et législation
  • Intégrité, tact, jugement, résilience, motivation
  • Expérience en audit ou enquête est un plus
  • Confidentialité, organisation, résolution de problèmes
  • Autonomie, collaboration, flexibilité
