Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart in Mississauga is seeking a Patient Care Specialist to support patients in a dedicated Patient Support Program. The role emphasizes reimbursment assistance, case management coordination, and high-quality customer service.

You will work in a fast-paced, team-based environment, communicating clearly with patients, physicians, and internal teams to ensure timely access to therapies and program success.

Qualifications

• Bilingualism (French & English) is required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a Customer Service or Call Centre setting.
• Strong computer skills in Windows with MS Office; experience using a CRM database is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Single point of contact for patients enrolled in the Patient Support Program.
• Conduct welcome calls and introduce patients to the support program.
• Explain all program offerings including case management and reimbursement support.
• Maintain expert knowledge of reimbursement mechanisms in public and private plans.
• Assist with funding options and documentation for program reimbursement.
• Coordinate delivery of medications and follow up on adherence.
• Report adverse events and product complaints promptly.
