Job summary

IPEX is seeking a bilingual Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Specialist to join our Clarkson Distribution Center team. You will drive HSE programs, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate investigations, and support multiple site teams with continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong communication, project coordination, and the ability to travel across sites, with a focus on safety culture and KPI reporting. Fluency in English and French is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree in Health, Safety & Environment or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred as an asset.
• Professional certifications such as CRSP/CRST, CSP, ASP, CIH, OHST, CPE, CCPE or equivalents.
• 5–7 years of HSE experience in distribution, manufacturing or construction.
• Strong knowledge of WHMIS, TDG, CSA and Canadian regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; experience delivering training.

Responsibilities

• Support DC leadership in implementing HSE programs and localizing them.
• Promote HSE activities across multiple sites to raise engagement.
• Collaborate with HSE team to develop procedures and work instructions.
• Conduct gap analyses and develop corrective action plans.
• Ensure regulatory compliance audits are completed.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage workers’ compensation claims and regulatory reporting.
• Support Health and Safety Committee initiatives.
• Assist site teams with implementing and improving HSE controls.
• Maintain HSE documentation and records; track KPIs.
• Review hazardous materials programs and training requirements.
• Escalate issues to HSE Business Partner as needed.
