Under the responsibility of the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for carrying out all the basic accounting operations necessary to produce monthly internal financial statements. In addition, he/she will carry out end-of-month entries and operations, analyze and explain discrepancies, and support the Financial Controller in specific mandates. The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing the payroll function as well as supervising the receivables and payables functions.

YOUR CHALLENGES :

• Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze/explain preliminary results and variances.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, and government remittances.
• Perform data entry, checks, controls, and various accounting analyses as needed by the Cheese Factory.
• Supervise accounts receivable and payable.
• Manage payroll operations for all employees.
• Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to oversee the group insurance program and other social benefits.
• Handle accounting for fixed assets and depreciation.
• Reconcile inventories and perform cost accounting.
• Participate in cash management and financial control.
• Assist in preparing the audit file and facilitate external audits.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

WHAT YOU HAVE :

• Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role; experience in manufacturing is an asset.
• Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and strong computer skills.
