Advantage Personnel is hiring an experienced Health and Safety Officer for a construction client in Gatineau, QC, serving Ottawa, ON. The role leads the deployment of health and safety protocols across project sites, requiring 3–5 years of H&S administration and bilingual English/French.

Responsibilities include hazard assessments, site orientations, safety boards, audits, and training. The position offers weekly pay, overtime after 44 hours, and vacation pay accrual.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of direct experience in health and safety administration on construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations.
• COR accreditation knowledge or experience.
• Criminal Record Check required during onboarding.

Responsabilités

• Work with project team to develop project-specific hazard assessments
• Lead site orientations and toolbox meetings
• Prepare safety boards for postings and safety kits across Ontario and Quebec projects
• Log and track locations and inventory safety boards
• Lead workplace audits and investigations of safety concerns and incidents
• Develop and implement health and safety programs, policies, and training
• Initiate enforcement procedures on workplaces contravening safety standards
• Provide training to employers, employees, and the public on workplace safety
