As part of a growing and dynamic commercial team, the Commercial Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for underwriting CMHC-insured and conventional commercial mortgages. The Underwriter must adhere to established policies and underwriting standards, meeting compliance and control requirements, while finding creative solutions in a timely manner to achieve service goals and annual target volumes. Additional credit-related and administrative duties include reporting, pipeline management, and networking with external business partners and internal departments.

The Work / Le Travail

1. Analyze and underwrite commercial credit facilities daily, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines, and submit recommendations for management approval. Manage documentation and conditions promptly (60%).
2. Communicate daily with external partners and internal staff to process transactions efficiently, ensuring superior customer service and meeting funding deadlines (20%).
3. Manage time effectively to handle deal flow and meet deadlines (10%).
4. Perform monthly administrative and reporting duties for senior management (10%).

About You / Parlons De Vous

• Bilingualism (French/English) is a key skill.
• Proficient underwriting skills, preferably with at least 2 years of commercial mortgage experience or SFR underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated service excellence.
• Post-secondary education in business or finance preferred.
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
