Job summary

McCarthy Tétrault is hiring a Bilingual Client Agreement Specialist to join our national team with offices in Canada. The role supports engagement letter audits, outside counsel guideline management, and risk operations with a hybrid work model.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in a legal or professional services environment, and is bilingual (English/French) with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent in database management principles.
• 3-5 years of related experience, ideally in a legal or professional services environment.
• Bilingual English/French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Audit engagement letters for compliance with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and client obligations.
• Review engagement letters for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with templates and standard provisions.
• Identify and escalate potential compliance concerns; track audit findings and report trends and risks.
• Provide training to staff on engagement letter requirements and processes.
• Collaborate with lawyers, legal assistants, and business professionals to address deficiencies identified during audits.
• Maintain records of engagement letter reviews, audit results, and remediation activities.
• Assist in updating engagement letter templates, standards, and best practices.
• Manage outside counsel guidelines (OCGs) process and related documentation.
• Coordinate intake forms and OCG terms in Intapp; ensure approvals are in place.
• Produce reports, metrics, and dashboards on engagement letter compliance and outside counsel activity.
