Job summary

ARAG Legal Solutions Inc. (Canada) in Toronto is seeking a bilingual Claims Adjuster to support growth across Canada in the legal expense insurance market. Reporting to the Claims Manager, you will assess claims for coverage and take appropriate actions to resolve matters efficiently.

Responsibilities include collaborating with external lawyers, delivering product trainings, and helping implement claims policies while leveraging your English-French skills to serve diverse clients and insureds.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a claims adjuster.
• Fluently bilingual in French & English.
• AMF Claims Adjuster license (Quebec) is required.
• Ability to evaluate and assist in litigation resolution.
• Understanding of legal fees and billing assessment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical, organized, and able to develop effective solutions.
• Interpersonal skills to build client relationships.
• Service oriented with a positive attitude.
• Experience in insurance litigation and tort law is an asset.

Job description

Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Bilingual Claims Adjuster will support our efforts as we expand and strengthen our presence across Canada in the legal expense insurance market.

What will you do?

• Review and assess new and potential claims to determine coverage under the applicable insurance contract and take appropriate action.
• Participate hands-on in the resolution of simple to moderate claims and coverage issues
• Deliver training on products, risk management presentations and advice to lawyers and firms
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with external lawyers
• Assist with various accounting functions as assigned

About You

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a claims adjuster.
• Must be fluently bilingual in French & English
• Must be licensed with the AMF as a Claims Adjuster in the Province of Quebec.
• Ability to evaluate and assist in the successful resolution of litigation.
• Comprehensive understanding of legal fees and billing assessment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Effective problem solving and proven analytical skills, organizational and decision-making ability in order to develop/implement effective solutions.
• High-level interpersonal skills required to build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
• Service oriented professional with a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed.
• Experience in insurance litigation & tort law is an asset
