Job summary

Sym-Tech Dealer Services in Thornhill, ON is seeking a forward-thinking Bilingual Business Analyst to join our IT team on a 12-month contract. The BA will liaise with IT development engineers and business stakeholders to refine requirements, translate them into user stories and validate that the deployed solution meets business and end-user needs.

Responsibilities include leading design, development and improvement of insurance and financial products; documenting requirements; creating use cases

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business and/or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years’ work experience as a Business Analyst and/or in insurance industry (nice to have).
• 2+ Years experience working in Scrum based teams and creation of User Stories, or equivalent training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects.

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst will liaise with IT development engineers and business stakeholders to refine product requirements, translate requirements into user stories and validate that the deployed solution meets the business and end user needs.

Position Functions:

• Leading and participate in the design, development, and improvement of insurance and financial products.

Minimum Qualifications:

Organizational Accountability

• Act as a liaison to business leaders with respect to the Application mandate.
• Ability to think logically, analyze and/or solve problems.

Technical

• In depth knowledge of project management methods, techniques, and tools.
• Experience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall and/or Agile.
• Experience documenting requirements for web, mobile, desktop and device applications.
• Experience in process analysis, improvement, and quality management concepts.
• 2+ Years experience working in Scrum based teams and creation of User Stories, or equivalent training.

Other Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business and/or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years’ work experience as a Business Analyst and/or in insurance industry (nice to have).

Decision Making Authority

• Receives guidance on the business priority and impact of specific requests from the Vice President of Information Technology and Program Manager.
