Purpose: This role involves working with our Asset Recovery Team to manage all accounts assigned for repossession, utilizing effective tools to recover company assets. Additionally, the role includes collecting payments on past-due accounts, including late charges, penalties, rent, restructures, payment plans, and settlements through verbal and written communication with lessees. Under general supervision and in compliance with policies and procedures, the role involves resolving bad debt through negotiation, skip tracing, and analyzing lessee financial information.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accounts received for repossession.
- Communicate with customers who want to pay to avoid repossession.
- Locate lessees using skip tracing techniques if no contact has been established.
- Confirm asset location and optimal recovery/return timing.
- Research recovery fees, including bailiff, transport, towing, storage, and sale commissions.
- Determine the asset's fair market/current value to decide the best recovery method (return to vendor, auction, remarketers).
- Assign the nearest bailiff for asset repossession.
- Send notifications regarding the sale of the asset.
- Calculate deficiency balances after sale proceeds are received and send deficiency letters promptly.
- Overcome lessee objections and suggest sources for debt repayment.
- Negotiate payoff balances, settlements, or payment arrangements on overdue accounts.
- Review lessee financial info via credit reports and prepare files for legal action if needed.
- Monitor payment arrangements set by Litigations Manager.
- Maintain accurate account records and notes in Aspire.
- Prepare weekly notes for the collections team and review accounts.
- Assist with accounts not yet in repossession and liaise with insurance for renewals or cancellations.
- Identify accounts for early charge-offs.
- Respond to all incoming calls on assigned queues.
- Meet daily and monthly performance standards.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED, with at least four years of collections experience, preferably with overdue accounts over 30 days.
- Proficiency in English and French language, grammar, and spelling.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, email, and internet usage.
- Ability to interpret credit reports, including Equifax.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, detail-oriented.
- Quick learner with strong research skills regarding equipment and market values.
