The Java Big Data Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data-driven applications and pipelines using Java, Scala, SQL, and Unix scripting. This role involves leveraging cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), working within containerized environments (OpenShift), and using DevOps tools (Jenkins, UCD) to streamline deployment and CI/CD. The ideal candidate will bring 6–8 years of experience in software development, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex data systems in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable big data applications using Java, Scala, SQL, and Unix scripting.
  • Build microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and deploy to OpenShift containers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement end-to-end data integration and processing solutions.
  • Utilize DevOps tools such as Jenkins and UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) to support CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deploy and monitor applications on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, data security, and compliance guidelines.
  • Analyze technical requirements, identify potential issues, and propose efficient solutions.
  • Manage timelines effectively and deliver on multiple concurrent projects with high priority.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $29.59/hour - $46.23/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
