Job Title: Benefits Project Manager

Location: Nashville, TN, Open to Remote

Pay: $45-60/hour DOE

Duration: 1-year contract with potential for extensions or to convert to a permanent role

Job Description:

The Benefits Project Manager will be responsible for managing and executing key projects that improve benefits processes and compliance. This role will focus on optimizing billing practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and configuring HRIS and benefits systems to support evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead benefits-related process improvement projects with a focus on billing, arrears, and compliance.
• Manage configuration and implementation of arrears functionality in UKG to recover missed deductions.
• Redesign the unpaid leave billing process to initiate benefit payments from Day 1 of leave.
• Review and update Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD) to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support ACA compliance activities, including eligibility tracking, measurement periods, and 1095 reporting.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to align benefits processes with organizational policies.
• Utilize UKG and PlanSource to support implementation and optimization of benefits systems.
• Navigate ambiguity and drive initiatives forward independently with limited direction.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience implementing or managing employee benefits programs in large organizations
• Strong knowledge of ACA compliance, eligibility calculations, and 1095 reporting
• Experience reviewing and updating Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD)
• Familiarity with UKG
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• This is a 1-to-2-year contract role with the possibility of converting to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
• The position may be remote, hybrid, or onsite depending on the candidate's location. Local candidates will receive priority.
