Job summary

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools seeks a Behaviour & Regulation Specialist to provide leadership within Student Support Services.

You will lead collaborative planning, model proactive strategies, and support school teams to meet behavioural and safety needs. Working in an inclusive, multidisciplinary environment, you will build staff capacity through coaching, professional learning, and data-informed practices, guiding individualized supports for students.

Qualifications

• Commit to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
• Apply knowledge of First Nations, Métis and Inuit for all students' benefit.
• Post-secondary education and professional experience in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Graduate-level education or specialized training in behaviour, trauma, mental health or inclusive education is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices, behaviour intervention, data-informed decision making, regulation, student engagement and inclusive education.
• Experience leading teams, facilitating problem-solving and providing professional learning.
• Current NVCI Instructor certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain certification.
• Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building and independent work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Leads collaborative wrap-around meetings for students requiring intensive supports.
• Supports school teams in understanding student behaviour through observation, data collection and analysis.
• Leads development and review of individualized behaviour and regulation plans and safety goals.
• Collaborates with administrators, teachers, families and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate supports.
• Works with psychologists, occupational therapists and SLPs to integrate goals into programming.
• Provides consultation, modelling and coaching to build staff capacity in proactive approaches.
• Serves as a Division NVCI lead trainer and leads crisis prevention and safety planning.
• Develops professional learning related to behaviour, trauma-informed practice, regulation and crisis planning.
• Supports teams before, during and after significant concerns to strengthen planning.
• Drives development of division-wide guidelines on behaviour, wellness and inclusion.
