Job summary

City College Peterborough is seeking a confident Beauty Technician to join the Study Skills department as a trainee lecturer. The role supports learners in developing their Beauty qualification alongside English and Maths, with 1 to 1 tutorial support and involvement in curriculum delivery.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 2 Beauty qualification, GCSEs in Maths & English, and be committed to inclusive education for 14-24 year olds.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Beauty qualification and GCSE Maths/English are required.
• Experience supporting learners and delivering tutorials is desirable.
• Able to work flexibly in a school setting with SEND experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and replenish stock and maintenance of the salon.
• Establish effective relationships with young people and monitor progress.
• Provide innovative and stimulating training and work as part of a team.
• Support learners aged 14–24 and contribute to department development.

Non-Qualified Teaching rate for trainee teachers £26,149.96 - £27,742.04 Pro-rata 37 hours per week (term time only + 1 weeks)

We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a Beauty Technician, to become a key member of our Study Skills department.

We are seeking a confident and motivated technician that can help and support learners to develop their Beauty qualification along with supporting with English and Maths. Alongside this role, offer 1 to 1 tutorial support and be a support to our young people. You will work with other tutors to raise the learning and attainment of young people, while promoting their social inclusion, self-esteem and independence. You will get the opportunity to support students in the Beauty vocational areas of the college and ensure all students are provided with the most appropriate level of support to assist them to access the curriculum, participate in learning and fulfil their potential. You will need to be able to use your own initiative while supportive of learners, dealing with situations with tact and empathy. The need to be flexible in your approach is imperative. We would ideally like you to have experience of working with people with SEND.

At City College Peterborough we have a whole organisation approach to Maths and English provision based upon our commitment to improve the skills of learners by supporting them to achieve GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.

This opportunity would suit either experienced lecturers or graduates with a willingness to undertake the appropriate development.

The successful candidate will be required to:
