Job summary

NuVista Mental Health in Ottawa is seeking a Clinician (Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or Psychotherapist) with a Neurofeedback focus to join our team as an Independent Contractor. You will split time between traditional psychotherapy, neurofeedback sessions, and supervision of neurofeedback technicians.

Training is available and BCN certification costs may be covered. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, evidence-based care across PTSD, anxiety, depression, and stress-related concerns

Qualifications

• Master’s degree Social Work, Psychotherapy, or PhD in Clinical Psychology.
• Registered (in good standing) with the provincial licensing body.
• Ability to utilize empirically validated, trauma-informed practices and other evidence-based treatments.
• Has relevant working experience in trauma-related work.
• Experience with Neurofeedback preferred.
• Professional Liability Insurance or willingness to obtain insurance.
• Demonstrates professionalism and effective case management (timely reports).

Responsibilities

• Deliver neurofeedback sessions using established training protocols.
• Conduct intake assessments and monitor client training progress.

• Develop collaborative treatment plans and support clients in achieving therapeutic goals.
• Effectively manage case load, reporting.

The Opportunity

Are you currently providing neurofeedback while also offering traditional psychotherapy? Or do you have a strong interest in learning neurofeedback but need training?

We are excited to announce that we have an opening for a Clinician (Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or Psychotherapist) - Neurofeedback Focus to join our team.

The Neurofeedback (BCN) Clinician will divide their time between providing traditional psychotherapy, conducting neurofeedback, and providing supervision and support to our neurofeedback technicians. Training is available to interested candidates with no previous neurofeedback experience. We are also offering to cover the cost of BCN certification!

• Deliver trauma-informed care for clients experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress-related concerns, and other mental health challenges
• Develop collaborative treatment plans and support clients in achieving therapeutic goals
• Effectively manage case load, reporting
