Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a full-time Battery Sorter to join our liquids team. The role involves sorting batteries to proper destinations, data entry, and forklift movements. Shift is 6 AM to 2 PM, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Experience in a related production line occupation or as a warehouse worker.
• OHSA Rights and Responsibilities, WHMIS training.
• Physical strength for manual material handling.
• Long standing, walking and some minimal climbing of ladders and stairs.
• Wearing and maintenance of required PPE including respirator mask.

Responsibilities

• Sort batteries on a production conveyor.

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Battery sorter is responsible for sorting batteries to the proper destinations, data entry and forklift movements.

Shift time: 6 AM to 2 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Sorting mixed batteries on a production conveyor
• Transport raw materials, scrap and recyclable materials throughout plant using a forklift
• Data entry using Microsoft Excel and Greentrax
• Clean work areas and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Completion of secondary school
• Experience in a related production line occupation or as a warehouse worker Forklift and/or Overhead crane experience an asset
• OHSA Rights and Responsibilities, WHMIS training
• Physical strength is required for manual material handling materials
• Long standing, walking and some minimal climbing of ladders and stairs
• Wearing and maintenance of required PPE including respirator mask
