Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is looking for a BAS Engineering Technologist to join our growing team in Canada. You will design and support building automation systems from engineering through commissioning, focusing on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

You will operate in a team as well as maintain ownership throughout the service order process, with opportunities for advancement within a collaborative, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Technologist diploma or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience as a BAS Engineering Technologist/Engineer.
• Strong leadership to support reports and business directives.
• Solid understanding of HVAC control systems and BAS components.
• Knowledge of building technology offerings and cross-functional coordination.
• Strong communication, presentation, and financial acumen.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop P&ID drawings, panel layouts and wiring diagrams per customer requirements.
• Review tender and IFC design drawings to plan project scope.
• Size equipment to meet project requirements and standards.
• Support project estimates to meet financial targets while ensuring quality.
• Program building control systems to engineered specifications and test thoroughly.
• Coordinate turnover meetings with Project Manager and sales for project engineering.
