Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a Controls Designer Level 1 to join our growing team based out of Calgary, Alberta. As a Controls Designer Level 1, you will be involved in the installation, commissioning, and servicing of commercial building automation systems. This position requires a good working knowledge of PC fundamentals, PC Networking / LAN, basic electronic theory, and Building Electrical / Mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in delivering BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
  2. Assist with site commissioning, point-to-point verifications, troubleshooting, and startup of a variety of Building Automation Systems.
  3. Learn and demonstrate a thorough understanding of ESC Safe Work and H&S Policies.
  4. Understand fundamentals of how HVAC systems operate in commercial buildings.
  5. Work with and understand HVAC and Digital Control fundamentals.
  6. Demonstrate working knowledge of BAS Networking and Building System Integration.
Qualifications
  1. Valid Driver's license.
  2. Fluent in English – both written and oral.
  3. The ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and product documentation.
  4. Graduate of a Post-Secondary technical or engineering program.
  5. Fluent in Microsoft Office.
  6. Medium physical duties, including the ability to stand for long periods in a construction environment, climb ladders, and work from heights.
  7. Some programming experience is an asset.
