Operating in the hospitality and restaurant industry for nearly 50 years, Gray Collection is an award-winning group of authentically local hotels and restaurants that offer travelers from around the world the experience of friendly luxury. Our establishments include Maggie Oakes, Jacopo, Vieux-Port Steakhouse, Pincette, Bevo Bar+Pizzeria, Taverne Gaspar, Terrasse le Perché, Terrasse William Gray, Terrasse sur l’Auberge, and Terrasse-Jardin.

The Bartender/Barista will provide a superior level of hospitality to all guests, preparing all beverage types from the café and bar, as well as offering and serving food from the available menus. The successful candidate will provide all the correct steps of service, while also preparing and serving hand-crafted beverages to guests in the café, lobby, bar and lounge area and complying with all food and beverage regulations. This position will also prepare all beverages for the dining area/bistro and room service, requisitioned by servers and service staff.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Serve guests at the bar, lounge, and café areas.
  • Greet guests warmly, seat them if possible, and answer the phone.
  • Prepare and serve beverages according to recipes, standards, and timing for both bar and café guests.
  • Interact with guests, assess their needs, make recommendations, and thank them upon departure.
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately, balancing the bar till.
  • Take and process room service orders, delivering them when possible.
  • Follow recipes and standards for consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Set up, clean, and close your station, maintaining sanitation and organization, including changing beer kegs and preparing fresh ingredients.
  • Prepare juices, drink mixes, and garnishes; stock the bar to ensure availability of supplies.
  • Receive and manage liquor, wine, and beer orders; rotate products, record inventory, and assist management with stock.
  • Use equipment, grinders, and blenders safely and according to training.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and management.
  • Clean designated areas following checklist procedures and routines.
  • Maintain professionalism by adhering to the dress code and demonstrating a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
  • Adopt safe work practices and report unsafe conditions immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Smart Serve Certification required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English and French.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for hospitality.
  • Possess a strong work ethic with a desire to achieve team goals.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage your time during high volume and busy times.
  • Being physically able to move quickly, bend, and reach throughout your shift; able to stand and walk for long periods of time 8+ hours and lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Exceptional knowledge of relevant beverages.
