City Experiences is seeking a Bartender for our City Cruises operation in Gananoque.

About The Opportunity
The Bartender provides prompt and consistent service of Dockside beverage program. Crew members actively participate within the front of house team by servicing bar guests, completing beverage chit times, managing cash drawer, and maintaining a safe, clean, and stocked bar workspace. The successful candidate will contribute to an unforgettable guest experience through exceptional care for food & beverage, respecting decisions made by supervisors, being viewed favorably by peers, and executing duties efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide excellent hospitality to guests and coworkers following the RESPECT Service System.
- Report to work on time for all scheduled shifts, clocking in and out appropriately, managing personal breaks.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to the crew’s role.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in uniform.
- Proficiently know all City Cruises Gananoque & Ivy Lea experiences and menu offerings.
- Be aware of vessel schedules, embarkment periods, local attractions, and upcoming events to prepare for peak periods.
- Understand common allergies, preferences, and religious restrictions.
- Know various beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail recipes; adhere to menu recipes; accurately prepare beverages.
- Manage bar space, stock, and cleanliness daily; check in with supervisors.
- Take orders accurately, enter into POS system, and serve efficiently.
- Handle payments correctly, including change, receipts, and adhering to policies on refunds and discounts.
- Participate in guest entertainment and celebrations.
- Set up and break down dining and service areas, moving furniture as needed.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining equipment, stockrooms, and common areas.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements & Qualifications
- O.S.S.D. or equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education.
- Three years of experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Smart Serve Certification required.
- Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, self-directed personality.
- Willing to be closely supervised and receptive to training.
- Strong communication skills; multilingual ability is an asset.
- Ability to understand and convey information effectively.
- Service-oriented attitude.
- Physical ability to work in warm environments, lift heavy items, and stand for long periods.
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, wear non-slip footwear, and use PPE as required.
