Job summary

Barminco in Canada is seeking experienced Jumbo Operators to join our Canadian Operations on a 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off roster. You will operate mechanised jumbo drills and work within a safe, dynamic team.

Key duties include drilling patterns, field surveys, reading designs, and maintaining site safety. A pre-employment medical and police clearances are required, with tickets to be presented at interview. Vaccinations may be required for Canada locations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating jumbo drills on similar sites.
• Must pass pre-employment medical including drug/alcohol testing.
• Federal police clearance and site tickets/qualifications required at interview.
• Vaccinations may be required for work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Drill patterns with mechanised jumbo drill per ground conditions and patterns.
• Assess ground conditions and apply site-specific ground control.
• Follow drill plans to design line, gradient and profile.
• Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers as required.
• Optimize patterns to maximise advance while following design specs.
• Maintain a safe work area and ensure electrical services are clear of drills.

Job description

Barminco are actively seeking to recruit experiencedJumbo Operators to join us in our Canadian Operationson a 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off roster. Duties involved in the role:

• Accurately drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised electric/Hydraulic Jumbo drill suitable to ground conditions and in compliance with site specific drill patterns and survey instruction.
• Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements.
• Read and accurately follow mining instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient, and profile.
• Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers as required.
• Optimise drill patterns to ensure maximum advance per round is achieved whilst maintaining strict adherence to design specifications.
• Ensure work area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform working duties including ensuring electrical installations and services are clear of the drilling area.
