The CAMH Therapeutic Neighbourhood is seeking a part-time, contract (until March 2026) Barber/Hairstylist to provide services to a new initiative called “Mobile Cut and Style,” supporting CAMH patients with skilled in-house haircuts and hairstyles. This initiative is supported by Gifts of Light and Employment Works.
Reporting to the Manager of the CAMH Therapeutic Neighbourhood, the Barber will operate out of the TN for appointments and will visit CAMH inpatients, who have an appointment to get a haircut or hairstyle on their units with the support of CAMH clinicians.
The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience providing personal care services, including hair styling and haircutting. Completion of a hairstyling apprentice program or a college/other program in hairstyling is required. Experience working with individuals receiving mental health and/or addiction services is an asset. The candidate should possess excellent customer service skills, keen attention to detail, and strong organization and time management skills. Experience working with diverse clientele, including cutting and styling black hair, is required. The ability to work effectively in various settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential.
