- Full rate of pay $23.30 per hour following 90 days of service.
Reporting to the Banquet Manager, your responsibilities and essential job functions include—but are not limited to—the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
- Maintain complete knowledge of the daily scheduled group functions and requirements.
- Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.
- Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet meetings.
- Assist in the set up and take down of meeting and function rooms according to requirements in accordance with departmental standards.
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists and all menu items served.
- Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
- Previous service experience an asset.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- BC Serving It Right Certificate required prior to commencing employment.
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts—including 5:00 am start times, 4:00 am closing times, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve—and provide availability to work a minimum of two 8‑hour shifts per week, totaling a minimum of 24 hours weekly. For one of these shifts, you must be available until 2:30 am on a weekday (Sunday‑Thursday) and for the other shift you must be available until 4:00 am on the weekend (Friday or Saturday).
- Physical aspects of the position: constant standing and walking throughout shift; constant lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.; occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting; occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
