Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead event service and staff, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and flawless execution. You will supervise the banquet team, manage set-up and breakdown, and coordinate with the culinary and management teams to meet Park Hospitality standards.

Role requires on-site leadership during events, strong communication, and a focus on safety, allergy awareness, and quality service. Training and mentoring staff are key elements of the position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Serving It Safe or Smart Choices Certificate required.
• Post-Secondary Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or Management considered an asset.
• Food Handler Certificate considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee event planning and execution, ensuring all F&B items are presented and served to Park Hospitality standards.
• Maintain constant communication with culinary and staff teams during events, addressing changes or issues promptly.
• Ensure staff, venues, and equipment are prepared and returned to standards, with venues prepped for next business day.
• Lead by example on the banquet floor, providing hands-on support to staff and guests.
• Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene policies and manage guest allergies and security protocols.
