Job summary

Carleton University campus is hiring full-time Banquet Captains to coordinate catering functions and events for internal and external clients, overseeing setup and staff to ensure flawless execution.

Reporting to the Catering Manager, you’ll train staff, supervise teams including agency staff, and deliver high-quality service while adhering to Aramark standards. A Criminal Background Check is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years catering experience/background
• Perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities
• Strong organizational skills
• Effective team management experience
• Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs
• Smart Serve Certification
• Valid Driver’s License
• Drivers Abstract will be requested
• Criminal Background Check may be required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/groups
• Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
• Execution of the function/event from beginning to end
• Supervise staff, including agency staff if required
• Conduct pre-shift rally/meetings
• Provide clear instructions to staff; ensure tasks are completed on time and per customer expectations
• Assure quality, courteous service is provided to customers at all times
• In conjunction with the Assistant Manager, train staff on job duties and Aramark catering standards
• Operate vehicles to deliver and pick up food items safely
• Keep catering room organized and clean
• Adhere to Aramark Policies and Procedures
• May perform other duties as required

We are hiring full-time Banquet Captains to join our team on Carleton University campus. Reporting to the Catering Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for coordinating daily catering requirements/events and set up for events and conference groups on campus.

• Responsible for the execution of the function/event from beginning to end
• Supervise staff, including agency staff if required
• Conduct pre-shift rally/meetings
• Provide clear instructions to staff; ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner and according to customer expectations
• Assure quality, courteous service is provided to customers at all times
• In conjunction with the Assistant Manager, train staff on job duties and Aramark catering standards
• Operate automobiles, vans and light trucks to deliver and pick up food items, while ensuring safety standards are continually practiced and adhered to
• Ensure catering room is kept in an organized and clean fashion
• Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
• May perform other job duties as required
