Job summary

Cold Lake First Nations is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of Band Buildings. You will report to the Band Building Coordinator and assist in tasks inside and outside the buildings to maintain safety, integrity, and usability for staff and community members.

The role requires Grade 12 or equivalent, reliable transport, and the ability to work independently in a busy, sometimes high-stress environment. Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with occasional event support.

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 education, or combination of education and experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety regulations and policy.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area with required supplies and tools.
• Inspect and track maintenance needs across all band buildings.
• Follow up with supervisor on maintenance requests and documentation.
• Maintain electrical, HVAC, heating, cooling, and plumbing systems in good working order.
• Keep daily work logs and records of work performed.
• Assist with seasonal groundskeeping tasks (snow, lawn, cleanup).
• Set up and tear down for community events as needed.
• Report major repairs to supervisor and follow established procedures.
