The BC Liquor Distribution Branch seeks a Senior Finance Manager Expenditures and Controls to oversee accounts payable and financial analysis. The role requires a CPA and substantial senior management experience, focusing on compliance and efficient financial operations in a large organization.
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.
The LDB is committed to governments goals of making life better for people in B.C. improving services and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations. Finance is separated into five work groups (Finance Corporate Finance Wholesale Regulatory and Compliance Finance Retail and Shared Services) and provides financial services to all LDB departments. The Finance division provides financial reporting advisory services budgeting capital asset reporting and financial transactional processing (banking accounting payable accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDBs enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers / warehouses.
About this role :
The Senior Finance Manager Expenditures and Controls provides expert advice and guidance regarding all aspects of accounts payable function including all related systems and financial analysis and controls. The Senior Manager leads and manages LDBs finance accounts payable function ensuring efficient transaction processing and compliance with regulatory requirements and performance targets.
The Senior Manager is responsible for financial stewardship identifying risks and mitigation strategies and the establishment of internal controls and processes to support accurate timely and efficient financial operations. This includes leading a multi-level service delivery team and the provision of expert guidance to the operational lines of business.
The Senior Finance Manager contributes to the continuous improvement and the alignment between shared services and internal clients operational requirements. The Senior Manager is also accountable for contributing to the achievement of the Finance departments service targets.
