Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a bakery or food service environment
• Extensive knowledge of sourdough principles, baking methods, and food safety regulations
• Experience with pre-ferments: levain, poolish, sponge
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Passion for leading others and providing an exceptional customer experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to work early mornings and weekends

Role and Responsibilities:

• Lead daily baking activities, including:
  • Measuring, mixing, and hand-moulding artisanal bread
  • Operating bakery equipment (e.g., mixers, ovens, proofer, bread slicer)
  • Hand-moulding bread, baguettes, boule, etc.
  • Baking and scoring traditional bakery products
• Assist Bakery Manager with inventory management, labour scheduling, ordering, and expense control
• Support team member training and coaching to meet operational standards
• Ensure quality, service, and cleanliness standards are maintained
• Properly store food following safety policies
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in the absence of the Bakery Manager

Position details:

• Type: Full-Time
• Wage: $19.00 - $24.00/hour
