Job summary

Walmart Canada in Sherwood Park, AB is seeking a Bakery Associate to deliver friendly customer service while maintaining the Bakery Department’s quality and appearance. You will assist with stocking, sign pricing, and ensuring products like bread, cakes, and pastries are merchandised correctly.

As part of the team, you will follow food safety and sanitation procedures, monitor temperatures, and help with thawing, baking, and display safety to keep the department ready for customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise (bread, cakes, pies, cookies, rolls).

• Adheres to cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, and shelf life procedures.
• Follows food safety and sanitation procedures and cleaning protocols.
• Performs ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels as required.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by thawing and baking according to guidelines to maintain quality.
• Ensures all displays are secured safely.

• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates.
• Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.95.
