Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Bakery Associate in Swift Current to provide friendly customer service while maintaining the bakery area and stocking products. You will help with signage, pricing, and maintaining product quality in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires adherence to food safety standards, proper labeling, and maintaining clean, organized displays. Training will be provided to ensure excellent service and product presentation.

Responsibilities

• 1. Ensure quality and visual appeal of Bakery Department merchandise (bread, cakes, pies, cookies, rolls).
• 2. Keep the department fully stocked and ready for business.
• 3. Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• 4. Adhere to cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording and date control.
• 5. Follow food safety handling and sanitation procedures.
• 6. Manage ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, labeling.
• 7. Prepare bakery items per thawing and baking guidelines to maintain quality.
• 8. Ensure displays are secure and safe.

What you'll do

• 1. Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• 2. Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
• 3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• 4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• 5. Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• 6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
• 7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• 8. Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.15.
