Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Powell River, BC, is hiring an Assistant Department Manager, Bakery. The role requires open availability and 40 hours per week, leading a bakery team and ensuring customer-first service.

You will coach and develop team members, manage stock levels, communicate effectively, and implement community-driven sales strategies to grow the bakery business. Prior retail or customer service experience and Food Safe certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience.
• Food Safe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to team members.

• Engaging and retaining team members through training and development, performance management, rewards/recognition and the identification and development of future leaders.
• Communicating important messages with the team.
• Using knowledge of the community, competitive environment, and industry to develop entrepreneurial strategies to grow the business.
• Taking count of the correct amount of stock.
