Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Golden, BC is hiring an Assistant Department Manager, Bakery to lead a friendly, customer-focused team in a busy bakery department. This role emphasizes coaching, training, and building a positive store environment that puts the customer first.

You will be expected to support a 40-hour work week with flexible availability, and contribute to inventory accuracy and staff development while delivering outstanding service to our guests.

Qualifications

• Food Safe Certification.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading a team and act as coach and resource to team members.
• Foster a positive environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Engage and retain staff through training, performance management and recognition programs.
• Communicate important messages with the team.
• Develop entrepreneurial strategies using community knowledge and market context.
• Ensure accurate stock counts and inventory controls.

We are hiring for an Assistant Department Manager, Bakery at our Save-On-Foods location in Golden, BC. The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting with leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to team members.
• Fostering a positive environment that is focused on Always Customer First service.
• Engaging and retaining team members through training and development, performance management, rewards/recognition and the identification and development of future leaders.
• Communicating important messages with the team.
• Using knowledge of the community, competitive environment, and industry to develop entrepreneurial strategies to grow the business.
• Taking count of the correct amount of stock.

You have:

• Previous retail or customer service experience (considered an asset).
• Food Safe Certification.
• A passion for great food and providing outstanding customer service.
• A strong work ethic and let's get it done attitude.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.

Compensation Details

Compensation Details: $19.25 - $22.60 The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
