Job summary

Robinhood is building the Tokenization team in Toronto, developing backend services for minting, custody, and settlement of tokenized equities on-chain. The role emphasizes correctness, security, and continuous operation, with in-person work at the Toronto office at least three days per week.

You will work on bridging traditional market infrastructure with on-chain systems, collaborating across product, compliance, and platform teams to deliver robust financial technology solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software development.
• Expertise in backend development using Go, Python, or Java.
• Strong grasp of system design and data modeling.
• Care for correctness-critical systems and failure modes when money is at stake.
• Strong ownership mindset with end-to-end delivery in cross-functional environments.
• Interest in blockchain fundamentals or a strong appetite to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy the backend services that mint, custody, and settle tokenized equities on the Robinhood Chain, with correctness and auditability as hard requirements.
• Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards.
• Build the connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure and on-chain systems, including smart contracts integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows.
• Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, and platform teams to deliver impactful technical solutions.
