Job summary

Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer to enhance scalable services and APIs that power our global payroll and HR platform. You will collaborate with Frontend, Product, and QA to deliver high-quality back-end solutions and reliable data flows.

You will write robust code in Node.js, utilize AWS services, and work with PostgreSQL and Sequelize to ensure performance, security, and scalability across our products.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server side language.
• Expert in JavaScript syntax.
• Proficient with SQL and NoSQL databases, esp. PostgreSQL and Sequelize ORM.
• Solid understanding of AWS services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA to create seamless experiences.
• From discovery to deployment, contribute at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Collaborate to develop robust new features, APIs, and improve products; fix bugs quickly.
• Ensure top-tier products and services through quality engineering and customer-focused development.
