Job summary

CICCC - Cornerstone International Community College of Canada is seeking a Backend Developer or Full Stack Developer to support the development of a new online school platform. This contractor role focuses on building scalable backend services, secure APIs, and robust data models to manage students, courses, payments, and admin workflows.

The ideal candidate will have strong backend experience, proficiency in REST APIs, authentication, and cloud deployment, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Experience with backend or full-stack web apps.
• Strong database design and management knowledge.
• Experience building REST APIs or similar services.
• Familiarity with authentication, user roles, and secure data handling.
• Cloud deployment or hosting experience is a plus.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the backend architecture for the online school platform.
• Build and maintain APIs for student, course, payment, and admin features.
• Design and manage databases for students, courses, attendance, certificates.
• Integrate payment systems and third-party tools as needed.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and user role management.
• Ensure platform security, data protection, and reliability.
• Collaborate with project lead, frontend/UI/UX developers, stakeholders.
• Support testing, debugging, deployment, and ongoing improvements.
