Job summary

Startec Compression & Process in Calgary, AB, is seeking a B-Pressure Vessel Welder to join our Shepard Shop. You will weld metal pressure vessels from drawings, adhering to vessel, piping and welding specifications. Shift: 4:30 p.m.

to 2:20 a.m. The ideal candidate holds a Journeyman trades certificate (welding or pipefitting), a B-Pressure Certificate, and at least 2 years of vessel welding experience. Experience in manufacturing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have journeyman trades certificate (welding or pipe fitting).
• 2+ years of vessel welding experience required.
• B-Pressure Certificate required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment functional, alcohol, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal pressure vessels per drawings and specifications.
• Adhere to all vessel, piping, and welding assembly specifications.
• Read prints, layout, fit, and weld as required.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Perform rigging and operate overhead/jib cranes as needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a B-Pressure Vessel Welder to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The B-Pressure Vessel Welder's main responsibilities will include welding metal pressure vessels based on drawings provided, using techniques that adhere to all specifications for vessels, piping, and welding assembly. Shift Details: 4:30 p.m. -2:20 a.m.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Journeyman trades certificate (preferably welding or pipe fitting)
• 2+ years of experience in vessel welding is required
• B-Pressure Certificate
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
• Ability to pass a pre-employment functional, alcohol, and drug

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):

VESSELS

• Must have experience with fabrication and welding of pressure vessels
• Read prints, layout, fit, and weld as required
• Experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW/GTAW weld processes
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Rigging along with the use of overhead and jib cranes
