Job summary

Startec Compression & Process is seeking a B-Pressure Vessel Welder to join our Shepard Shop in Calgary, AB. You will weld pressure vessels from drawings, using SMAW/GMAW/FCAW/GTAW, with a focus on quality and safety. Shift is 4:30 p.m.

to 2:20 a.m. and work includes rigging with cranes. Qualified candidates have a Journeyman certificate in welding or pipe fitting, 2+ years of vessel welding, and a B-Pressure certificate.

Qualifications

• Journeyman trades certificate, preferably welding or pipe fitting.
• 2+ years of vessel welding experience.
• B-Pressure Certificate.
• Experience in manufacturing is an asset.
• Pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal pressure vessels according to drawings and specifications.
• Read prints, lay out, fit, and weld as required.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment.
• Rigging with overhead and jib cranes as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering & drafting on projects.

Position overview

Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a B-Pressure Vessel Welder to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The B-Pressure Vessel Welder's main responsibilities will include welding metal pressure vessels based on drawings provided, using techniques that adhere to all specifications for vessels, piping, and welding assembly. Shift Details: 4:30 p.m. -2:20 a.m.

Qualifications

• Journeyman trades certificate (preferably welding or pipe fitting)
• 2+ years of experience in vessel welding is required
• B-Pressure Certificate
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
• Ability to pass a pre-employment functional, alcohol, and drug

Vessels

• Must have experience with fabrication and welding of pressure vessels
