AgeCare Bow Crest in Calgary is hiring a part-time Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team. Under the supervision of a Staff Nurse, you will support residents with daily activities, personal care, and basic treatments to promote comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include baths, transfers, meals, mobility, and social activities, following care plans and temperature controls. We value compassion, reliability, and teamwork with residents, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both oral and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP to promote personal comfort and well-being.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed, to and from wheelchair, commode, or toilet, using appropriate safety devices.
• Feed/assist with feeding residents during meals and nourishment/snack times.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision.
• Assist residents to travel about the facility and to dining rooms and activities.

The HCA, under the supervision of a Staff Nurse, applies this knowledge and these skills to provide a wide variety of safe and thorough basic care and services to residents. **What You Will Do*** Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP to promote resident personal comfort and well-being according to strict water temperature control procedures.* Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed, to and from wheelchair, commode, or toilet, using appropriate Engineering Controls (Ceiling Lifts, Mechanical Lifts) and Personal Protective Equipment Controls (Transfer Belt)**.*** Feed/assist with feeding residents during meals and nourishment/snack times. Refer to care plan for appropriate diet to each resident.* Provide routine treatments (e.g. skin creams, bowel protocols) and care procedures to residents, under the direction of the Staff Nurse.* Assist residents to travel about the facility.* Assist residents to and from the Dining Room for meals.
